Musical Theatre

Glyn trained at the Arts Educational Schools.

Glyn's West End theatre credits include the role of ‘Bob Cratchitt’ in Scrooge (London Palladium); ‘Phantom’ in Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s Theatre, directed by Hal Prince); ‘Arnaud du Thil’ in Martin Guerre (Prince Edward Theatre, directed by Declan Donnellan); ‘Enjolras’ and understudy ‘Jean Valjean’ in Les Miserables (West End, directed by Trevor Nunn and John Caird); ‘Joe Gillis’ in Sunset Boulevard (opposite Betty Buckley and Elaine Paige) (Adelphi Theatre, directed by Trevor Nunn); Original Cast and subsequent Alternate ‘Chris’ in Miss Saigon (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, directed by Nicholas Hytner).

Glyn’s regional theatre credits include the role of ‘Long John Silver’ in Treasure Island (Derby Playhouse, directed by Karen Louise Hebden), ‘Neil Armstrong’ and ‘Yuri Gagarin’ in Moon Landing (Derby Playhouse, directed by Karen Louise Hebden), ‘Cinderella's Prince’ and ‘The Wolf’ in Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods (Derby Playhouse, directed by Karen Louise Hebden), ‘The Prince’ in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Opera House, Manchester) opposite Suranne Jones and John Savident; ‘Dr Manislav’ in The World Premiere of Two Cities (Salisbury Playhouse, directed by Joanna Read); The Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince in Into The Woods (Derby Playhouse, directed by Karen Louise Hebden), ‘John Tallentire’ in The Hired Man (Salisbury Theatre, directed by Joanna Read); Kern Goes To Hollywood (King’s Head Theatre, Islington, directed by David Kernan); ‘Captain Von Trapp’ in The Sound Of Music (Aberystwyth Arts Centre, directed by Kevin Wood); The World Goes Around – European Premiere (West Yorkshire Playhouse, directed by Jude Kelly); ‘The Man’ in Side By Side By Sondheim (Olympia Theatre, Dublin); ‘The Wolf’ and ‘Cinderella’s Prince’ in Into The Woods (Library Theatre, Manchester, directed by Roger Haines); Understudy ‘Che Guevara’ in Evita (Manchester Opera House & National Tour, directed by Hal Prince); Ensemble in The Metropolitan Mikado (The Queen Elizabeth and Royal Festival Hall, directed by Ned Sherrin).

Celebrating Sondheim  (Royal Festival Hall); Cook’s Tour (Shaftesbury Theatre); Follies (Dome, Brighton); Merrily We Roll Along (Shaftesbury Theatre); A Cavalcade of Coward (Piccadilly Theatre); Company (Victoria Palace); We Like Ike (Royal Festival Hall); Royal Gala (Barbican Concert Hall) for Mike Batt; Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert (Royal Albert Hall); Showstoppers (Bridgewater Hall, Manchester) with the Halle Orchestra; West End & Broadway (Birmingham Symphony Hall and Blackpool Opera House) with the City Concert Orchestra; Opening Gala of the Cardiff International Musical Theatre Festival 2006 (Sherman Theatre, Cardiff).  Glyn has performed as a solo artist in concerts in Europe and the Far East as well as solo concerts and cabarets in the UK.  Glyn most recently performed at the Cardiff International Musical Theatre Festival, Cardiff performing Treasure Girl opposite Patricia Hodge.

Original Cast Albums of Miss Saigon; The Symphonic Version of Les Miserables; Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert.  A Night at The Musicals (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra);  John The Baptist in Godspell with Darren Day;  Freddy in My Fair Lady;  Tony in The Boyfriend;  The Russian in Chess; Ravenal in Showboat; Whistler in Oscar. Glyn was musical co-ordinator/pianist for Linzi Hateley’s albums “For The First Time” and “Sooner or Later”.  Pianist/Arranger for solo albums by Shona Lindsay, John Barr and Michael Strassen.  Glyn has released his debut solo album "Don't Judge An Album By Its Cover"- Click Here. Glyn is an accomplished songwriter and is currently working on a new album, which will consist of all his own compositions.

Other

Glyn took part in a series of Workshops conducted by Stephen Sondheim at Oxford University.  Glyn has recently written a musical for children entitled Haunted.  It is currently successfully being performed by many branches of the Stagecoach network, throughout the UK - for details Click Here
